Recent work  includes the sale of 54 new build flats to a housing association, various high street retail units sales and purchase and a number of development site acquisitions together with onward flat and house sales.

I have acted for a number of developers on anything from one to around sixty units and involving multiple legal titles.


I can assist in site acquisition, division, producing legal packs and drafting leases all the way through to unit sales.


When buying a site it is essential to ensure all legal rights are in place for access and to allow for services to be connected.  Another common issue are legal restrictive covenants which can either stop development altogether or mean that action needs to be taken.


This is a complex area of law and getting the right legal advice is essential.

I have experience of acting for landlord and tenants in many areas including:


  • lease extensions.  Once your lease goes below 80 years it becomes far more expensive to  get it extended and more difficult to sell your property.
  • Deeds of Variations.
  • Enfranchisement, which is where flat owners buy the freehold to their building. 
  • grant of new leases.  
  • licences for alteration which is where a flat owner would like to make either structural alterations or change the layout of their flat.
